Born in Baden-Baden, Thomas Braunagel is co-founder and CEO of Zeitwerk GmbH and an experienced innovator in digital media. After studying media informatics at Furtwangen University in the pioneering semester from 1990 to 1994, he began his career as a project manager at Pixelpark AG in Berlin.
At the Wilhelm Büchner University of Applied Sciences, where he worked for over eight years as Director of Studies, he established the distance learning course “Digital Media”. In this role, he developed the “Social Media” specialization module, making the university the first academic provider of social media in Germany in 2011.
Since Zeitwerk GmbH was founded in 1996, Thomas Braunagel has led the company as CEO and contributed his strengths in strategic consulting and the design of digital ecosystems, including websites, social media channels, platforms, messenger services, and apps.
His client portfolio, which he has successfully advised strategically and whose projects he has successfully implemented, includes renowned companies and institutions such as Amway, Audi, Balluff, the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in Berlin, Condé Nast, DJI, FrieslandCampina, Gaggia, Harmann Becker Automotive Systems, Haus & Grund, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, Hubert Burda Media, Hugo Boss, Julius Berger, Jura Elektroapparate, Carl Roth, Landliebe, Mercedes-Benz Classic, Museum Frieder Burda, the Black Forest National Park, Naturpark Schwarzwald Mitte/Nord e. Thomas Braunagel has extensive expertise in developing digital ecosystems, social media strategies and digital transformations for a wide range of industries. He is passionate about combining technology and brand communication to create sustainable and innovative customer experiences that meet current market requirements and make companies fit for the future.
Since 2016, he has also been Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Friedrich Hechelmann and Schloss Isny Art and Culture Foundation, where he is involved in cultural digitization projects, among other things.
